Constipation Remedies
Ladies and gentlemen, life is too lovely to
lose to ignorance. And my goal today is to learn with you what you need to know
about this disease and what you can do to help prevent it. So, joining me now
is the doctor who, who may well have saved my hide. Meet Dr. Steven Zax,
plastic and reconstructive surgeon and, oh, uh, by the way, Steve, uh, thank
you.
To prevent infections, patients taking chemotherapy should wash their hands
frequently, avoid sick people and crowds, immediately clean cuts and scrapes,
avoid contact with animal waste, and notify their doctor if they develop
chills, sweats or fever at 101 degrees or greater. To prevent bleeding, they
must avoid aspirin, ibuprofen, or any medication without the consent of their
doctor and avoid cuts with razors, knives, etc. The doctor should be notified
with any signs of bleeding, such as blood in stools, vaginal spotting, bleeding
gums, vomiting or coughing up blood, and bruising.
One of every three cancers diagnosed in the United States this year will
be skin cancer, for a total of more than 700,000 new cases. The risk is
greatest is summer, because ultraviolet rays from the sun are the main cause
of skin cancer.
The Skin Cancer Prevention Program (SCPP) is a statewide initiative
that works in cooperation with the National Council on Skin Cancer Prevention
to decrease future new cases of skin cancer among Californians. SCPP promotes
the integration of sun-protection education materials, policies, and
environmental supports (shade trees and structures) especially within entities
that provide outdoor recreation or occupational pursuits. SCPP provides
conference presentations and conducts media campaigns to encourage
population-wide practice of sun safety behaviors.
In order to be sure, we must take a small
piece of the growth and send it for microscopic analysis (biopsy). The skin
will often heal after a biopsy. This is because the skin grows over the cancer
like a blanket
